Berit Kjøll elected new board member of EOC

Sports President Berit Kjøll is elected as a new board member of the European Olympic Committees (EOC), the European Association of Olympic Committees.

The election was held during the EOC's general assembly in Athens. Kjøll has been elected for the period from 2021 to 2025. Spyros Capralos (Greece) was elected new president of the EOC. In total, there were 18 candidates for 12 ordinary board seats.

- I take this as a great declaration of confidence in Norwegian sports and what we stand for. Prior to the election, and through a series of meetings with other national Olympic committees in Europe, I have been clear on the importance of European sport having to do even more in the areas of good governance, sustainability and fair play. This boardroom gives us an important platform for more international influence, says Berit Kjøll.
